A Special Southampton Welcome at the University

The Housing & Hospitality Division of Estates & Facilities at Southampton Solent University have recently been awarded Welcome to Excellence corporate status.

Gill Heighington awarded the plaque to the University following a programme of customsied Welcome Host courses run through the Southampton Welcomes project.

Lindy Jessup, Hospitality Services Manager said “Participation in the Tourism SE 'Southampton Welcome Host ' course has enabled our staff teams to become more motivated and aware of their locality. Participation in the Welcome Host courses has increased their knowledge of what the City of Southampton has to offer whilst at the same time enhancing customer care skills. They now feel more empowered and confident to provide provide excellent customer service. This can only benefit the students, staff, conference delegates and others visiting the University.”
